Product Description
HYAcorp Lips® is an absorbable skin implant used for restoring lip volume and contour. It is made from non-animal hyaluronic acid, which is sterile, viscoelastic, and biocompatible (i.e., it does not cause immune reactions, inflammation, or toxicity). This hyaluronic acid is obtained through fermentation, and the product is supplied as a clear, viscous gel in a 1 ml syringe with a Luer Lock connector.
HYAcorp Lips® Composition
- Hyaluronic acid: 2.0 mg
- Cross-linked hyaluronic acid: 16.0 mg
- Sodium chloride: 6.9 mg
- Water for injection: 1.0 ml
Mode of Action HYAcorp Lips is injected into the middle dermal tissue to restore lost anatomical structures of the lips. It supplements the intercellular matrix and intradermal tissue, gradually degrading over time.
HYAcorp Lips® Indications for Use
HYAcorp Lips® is intended for the restoration of lip volume and contouring. The duration of its effect can vary based on the depth and area of injection, as well as the individual’s skin type.
HYAcorp Lips® Dosage Information
- HYAcorp Lips is provided in a 1 ml syringe for single use.
- Injection technique and depth depend on the specific area treated and the amount of volume increase required.
- Only correct up to 100% of the desired volume. Overcorrection is not recommended.
- The graduation on the syringe serves only as a visual guide for users and does not perform a precise measuring function.
HYAcorp Lips® Contraindications
HYAcorp Lips should not be used in patients with:
- Hypertrophic or keloid scars
- Intolerance to gram-positive bacteria
- Active infections or inflammatory processes
- Acute or chronic skin diseases
- Patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy
- Known allergies to hyaluronic acid
- Autoimmune diseases
Furthermore, its use is contraindicated for breast or genital augmentation. It is also not recommended for patients under 18 years old or for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Warnings and Precautions
- HYAcorp Lips must not be injected into blood vessels, as this may cause vascular occlusion and embolism.
- It should not be injected in areas with permanent implants or active skin conditions.
- Sterile injection techniques must be rigorously maintained to avoid infection.
- Expert knowledge of anatomy is essential for safe treatment, particularly when working near nerves and vessels.
- Patients using aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may experience increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
HYAcorp Lips® Side Effects and Adverse Reactions
As with any invasive procedure, treatment with HYAcorp Lips may cause adverse effects. These include:
- Itching, redness, swelling, or sensitivity at the injection site
- Subcutaneous bleeding or hematoma
- Hardness or hypersensitivity reactions
These symptoms are usually mild and resolve within 1-2 weeks. Delayed side effects are rare but may include:
- Bacterial infections
- Biofilm formation
- Chronic inflammatory nodules
- Herpes reactivation
- Material migration
- Skin necrosis
- Foreign body reactions or granuloma formation
In cases where overcorrection occurs, bluish discoloration (Tyndall effect) may appear.
To minimize risks, a thorough anamnesis is required, and a sterile injection technique should always be followed.
HYAcorp Lips® Drug Interaction
There is no specific mention of drug interactions in the leaflet, but patients taking anticoagulants or NSAIDs may experience increased bleeding risks at the injection site. Injections should not be performed in areas previously treated with other augmentation solutions to avoid complications.
HYAcorp Lips® Clinical Studies or Outcomes
The leaflet does not explicitly mention clinical studies or outcomes but highlights the product’s biotechnological background and its gradual degradation after application, ensuring that the restoration of lost anatomical structures is temporary and safe if applied correctly.
HYAcorp Lips® Drug Interactions
There is no mention of specific drug interactions with HYAcorp Lips. However, as noted under warnings, patients using anticoagulant therapies or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin) might face increased risks of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
HYAcorp Lips® Instructions for Use
- Prior to treatment, mark the areas to be treated.
- Use a local anesthetic if necessary, and consider an antibiotic to prevent infection.
- Remove the syringe from the blister pack, attach a sterile needle, and inject into the dermal zone.
- Use appropriate techniques based on the area treated and be cautious to avoid overcorrection.
HYAcorp Lips® Storage Instructions
HYAcorp Lips should be stored at room temperature (2°C – 25°C) and should not be frozen or exposed to extreme heat.
